Supply Requirements

The standard route of administration is by an intramuscular injection (IM). Some patients may receive prescriptions for a supplemental dose by sublingual route of administration. The patient and/or caregiver need to know how to give an injection. The instruction will be provided in Honduras, although we recommend your physician or health care professional provide additional instruction in this procedure.

Supplies required to administer AnvirzelTM:

· Bacteriostatic Water (Injectable Sterile Water)

· 10ml (10cc) or 12ml (12cc) syringe - A 10ml (10cc) to 12ml (12cc) syringe and needle is required to reconstitute each vial of Anvirzel.

· 1ml (1cc) or 3ml (3cc) syringe - A 1ml (1cc) to 3ml (3cc) syringe with a 25-gauge needle 1 inch long for injection into the arm, and/or a 25-gauge needle 1.5 inches long for injection into the leg or buttock.

NOTE:

Patients may require a physician's prescription for sterile water and syringes, although this is not a requirement in all countries. (1ml is equal to 1cc)

Injection Site / Intramuscular Injection:

(Note: Use long enough needle to get into the muscle.)

  • Arm – Deltoid (Use 25-gauge needle 1 inch long)
  • Leg – Quadriceps (Use 25-gauge needle 1.5 inches long)  
  • Gluteus Maximus / Buttocks /This is the best location.
    (Use 25-gauge needle 1.5 inch long)

Note:

For patient’s taking both Intramuscular Injection and Sublingual AnvirzelTM Therapy each day: Separate the Intramuscular Injection and Sublingual dosage by 8 to 12 Hours. It does not matter which dose is taken first, Patient choice .
